Who we are
Cafaitletaf is operated by Start.it, the data controller. For any privacy question, or to exercise your rights, contact us at hello@startit.agency.
What we collect
Account: your name and email, provided by Google or Apple when you sign in.
Profile: when you record or type your introduction, we capture the audio and/or text, the transcript, and the summary, skills and categories we derive from it.
Trust graph: who invited you and who you invite — your 1st- and 2nd-degree connections.
Introductions & messages: the intro requests you send or receive, and the messages exchanged once an introduction is accepted.
Technical: cookies needed to keep you signed in and to remember your language.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
To provide the service — matching, introductions and messaging (performance of our contract with you).
To keep the network trusted and secure and to prevent abuse (our legitimate interests).
To transcribe and structure your voice into a profile using AI (your consent, which you can withdraw by deleting your profile or account).
Who we share it with
We never sell your data. We share it only with the processors that run the service on our behalf:
• Supabase — database, authentication and hosting.
• OpenAI — speech-to-text transcription of your recording and generation of the search embeddings.
• Anthropic (Claude) — structuring your profile, ranking search results and drafting introduction messages.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, your profile, connections, invites, introductions and messages are erased. Residual copies in backups or logs are removed within 365 days.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law you can: access a copy of your data; correct it; erase it; restrict or object to its processing; and receive it in a portable format. You can edit your profile and delete your account at any time from the You tab, and withdraw consent for AI processing by deleting your profile.
If you believe we've mishandled your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Cookies & analytics
We use only essential cookies: a session cookie to keep you signed in, and a cookie that remembers your chosen language. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
For usage insights we run privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics (self-hosted Umami): it counts visits and page views in aggregate, with no cookies, no cross-site tracking and no personal profiles.
